He might have depicted the Dictator well, I didn't saw this movie but he was waaay too old.<br />- Liam McIntyre in the 2013 TV-series. Even as a young man, the historical Gaius Julius Caesar never would have worn his hair that long and only would have worn a beard when he was mourning a deceased relative since the Romans of that time only wore beards of sorrow, not in the normal life.<br /><br />The "Okay Ceasars" are all others.<br /><br />The by far best Caesar, character wise as well as played as a true charismatic and highly confident leader was the Ciaran Hinds version of the great HBO-series "Rome".<br /><br />The Asterix variants are in their own field not to be judged for historical accuracy.<br />Here, among the live action movies I loved the variant of "Asterix - Mission Cleopatra" the most.<br />This Caesar was flamboyant, self agrandizing and just fun to watch.<br />The best variants were the comic movie variants especially "Asterix in Britain" and "The Twelve Tasks of Asterix".Michael Staenglhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14388513026861909287noreply@blogger.com
